Virtus Health and IVFAustralia understand that choosing a donor may be a challenging process. This website enables you to view our donor’s profiles online and select the donor for your future treatment. We hope that you will find a suitable donor.
Our donor program will be explained to you during consultations with your fertility specialist, counsellor and donor program nurse. For your convenience we have highlighted a few of the key terms and conditions to keep in mind as you view the profiles.
Donor availability
In accordance with the New South Wales Assisted Reproductive Technology Act 2010, each donor is only allowed to create a maximum of five families (including the family/s of the donor). The donor may also specify fewer if he wishes to and include preferences on who can use the donated sperm.
In order to comply with legislative requirements we are only able to offer access to patients based on the number of allocations remaining. You will be able to view how many allocations are available for each donor on the search page and on each donor’s profile.
All donors listed have completed their counselling, screening process, 3 month quarantine period and currently have allocations available. You will only be able to commence treatment once you have selected a donor.
Searching for a Donor
There are a couple of ways you can search for a donor.
Firstly you can scroll through the table on the Search page viewing donors as you go. To view an extended profile of the donor, please click the view profile button.
If you are looking for specific characteristics in a donor please click one or two features in the drop down boxes at the top of the search page and press the 'Go' button to initiate the search. Your search will then display only the donors that meet your search criteria.
Once you have chosen a donor that matches your requirements please click on the ‘This is the donor for me’ button on the donor profile page. This will send an email to our donor team, completing the selection process. You will then receive an email confirming your donor code selection.
You will also receive an email from the donor team confirming allocation of your chosen donor.
Once you have selected a donor you will have 6 weeks to commence a treatment cycle. Also please note that IVF Australia is unable to hold you donor allocation for longer than 6 weeks between cycles. If you do not commence treatment in this timeframe the donor allocation will be rescinded. Please contact the donor program coordinator if you have any extenuating circumstances that will prevent you from commencing treatment within 6 weeks of selecting your donor or between treatment cycles.
If you have any questions or would like some support, please do not hesitate to contact the donor team on 02 9425 1700 or donorsupport@ivf.com.au.
